Raw Canned Food Replacement
Healthy Weight Gain Mix
This recipe was passed on to me although I have modified it somewhat. We use this to jump start dogs or cats that are thin or off their food. It works really well with moms in labor as well.

• 1 pint whole fat cottage cheese
• 1 lb turkey (or any other ground meat) burger (raw)
• 2 -3 eggs - boiled in the shell for 30 seconds*
• 2 tbls Flax Seed or Olive oil
• 1 can sardines or tuna fish

I know this sounds disgusting but the dogs and most cats love it. It is full of protein, essential fatty acids and digestive enzymes. This is what I use to hold the Showdown or Liquid Purrrformance vitamin/mineral supplements and probiotics that I give as well as any medications. For a toy dog or cat I would feed just a teaspoon or two and for a giant just a few tablespoons. This is better than any canned food. The breeder who shared this with me starts her puppies with this as their first solid food.

*Boiling the eggs for 30 seconds denature the whites and leave the benefits of the yolks intact.
