Iridology is the study of the iris of the eye. Whether in humans or horses, the delicate structures of the iris provide a road map to the body's current state of health. Iridology is especially useful in identifying many of the following:
Inherent physical strengths and weaknesses
Accumulation of toxins
Nutritional needs
Location of lameness
Past illnesses and traumas
Iridology also serves as a preventative measure to warn of a problem in its earliest stages, long before disease symptoms are present.
Equine Iridology:

Equine Iridology requires a new eye chart. Although similar to the human iris, the equine iris differs due to the extreme differences in the horse's digestive tract. Veterinarian Dena Eckerdt and Herbalist Mercedes Colburn in late 1995 developed the Equine Iridology grid to map out the horse iris as a simple, painless, economical means of reviewing the horse's body systems. Kay Aubrey-Chimene of Grand Adventures Ranch is certified in both human and equine iridology. Photography and reading appointments are available.
